aeon. 

Create a future brand around the sin of greed. 

This was a speculative future project with a focus on branding.

Working in a team of 4 we created 'aeon'. Aeon is a company that works with people to create an online presence that can then be visited by loved ones once the person has passed away. 

This was a very interesting project as we created the brand first then created products that fitted into that brand. During the project, we have a week-long workshop with Pedro Almeida where we really got to know the importance of branding and also created our own brand poster to show the initial feel of our brand. 

As this was a group project we split up to create our family of products and environment (which can be seen in the video above) My focus was looking at our target market and creating the flow of the service. I wanted to make a service that was very intimate with lots of touchpoints for the user so it was interesting really look at our target market and use these insights to make a service blueprint to see what would have to go in behind the scenes to give these personas the service they expect.

When looking at our target market I created 4 personas  and used empathy maps of each of them. From using th eempathey maps I found the service needs to have a lot of touch points as these people a either grieving or thinking about their own passing so there needs to be a lot of support from the company so they feel comfortable and reassured.

After understanding our user I created a very thorough service blue print that looked at the user journey aswell as what would need to happen in the company for this service to run smoothly. 

From the service map I found the main friction point was how are people going to find out about our company? We decided that as we were focusing on branding a website would be a good first point of contact for our customers so I made a mock up of what our website could look like. The website used the same themes that we used in the the initial poster but we decided to make it really simple with a focus on the name of the brand.

This project was carried out completely online so I gained a lot of experience of remote working as part of a team. I also gained a lot of knowledge in branding and how much it should be used to influence design decisions.
